저는 2021년 가을 입학으로 영국 ICL에 Full-time PhD Program으로 지원했고 Supervisor 와 입학처로부터 Confirmation of Study Letter를 받기는 했습니다. 하지만 아직 official offer letter (=CAS) 를 받지는 못했어요.

국내 장학금 신청 & 비자 신청을 위해서는 CAS가 필요하다고 해서 이에 대해 문의를 했더니 아래와 같은 답변을 받았어요.

Thank you for your email, I have followed this up with your supervisor and hope to be able to send you an offer letter by the end of the week and will keep checking on the progress.

 Any offer made will be conditional upon sponsorship until a financial guarantee from your sponsors is received. Once received and you have satisfied all admissions conditions we will be able update your offer status to unconditional firm. Once you have an unconditional offer status a CAS is generated so that you can apply for a visa.

내용에 따르면 conditional offer는 제공해 줄 수 있으나, a financial guarantee from your sponsors 이 없이는 unconditional offer를 줄 수 없다고 합니다.

여기서 말하는 a financial guarantee from your sponsors 이 무슨 의미인가요?

유학 학비는 본인 부담하겠다고 이야기한 바가 있고 지도교수와도 이야기를 마쳤는데, 입학처에서 sponsors 로부터의 재정증명이 필요하다는 부분이 이해가 안됩니다. 어떤 서류를 준비해야 하는건가요?        

참고로, 영어성적은 IBT 105, IELTS 7.0을 제출해서 English Level 증빙에는 문제가 없는 상황이에요.
